Given the annual global resource consumption of 350 billion disposable alkaline batteries and market demand, Xuneng’s founding research institution (Hong Kong LN INDUSTRIAL LIMITED Advanced Materials Research Institute) began collaborating with leading international materials research institutions as early as 2015 to conduct research, design, and development on the material systems and battery cells for “1.5V lithium-titanium batteries.” By 2023, the company had completed the evaluation of product and engineering technologies related to the material and cell systems of lithium-titanium batteries, including the selection and development of material systems, the evaluation and validation of product design schemes, the establishment of manufacturing engineering standards, and the mass-production evaluation of product performance parameters. Having obtained comprehensive practical data support and holding global patents for lithium-titanium batteries, the company ultimately launched a series of 1.5V rechargeable lithium-titanium battery products in 2025, centered on proprietary anode and cathode active materials. This initiative filled the gap in the consumer battery market for rechargeable 1.5V voltage-platform batteries. The planned Phase I capacity of the project is an annual production of 1 billion units of the 1.5V series rechargeable lithium-titanium batteries.
The 1.5V rechargeable lithium-titanium battery series can fully replace traditional zinc-manganese batteries, nickel-metal hydride and nickel-chromium batteries, as well as lithium-ion batteries with voltage-reduction plates, while addressing the shortcomings of other traditional battery types.
